Power of attorney – prepared, notarised and legalized
A power of attorney allows someone you trust to act on your behalf – for example to sell or buy land, manage a bank account, collect documents, represent you in an inheritance or run your business while you are away.
We help you choose the right type (general or special), draft clear wording in English and any other language required, arrange signing before a notary public and complete authentication and legalization so the document is accepted where it will be used.
Gambians abroad often need a power of attorney to manage property or family matters at home, and foreign investors need one for business in The Gambia. We coordinate between countries through our international offices.

Frequently asked questions
I live abroad – can I give a power of attorney for The Gambia?
Yes. You can sign it before a notary where you live and we arrange the apostille or legalization and translation so it is valid in The Gambia, or we prepare it here for you to sign at an embassy.
What information is needed?
Full names and ID details of you and the person you appoint, and a clear description of the powers granted, for example the property address or the bank account concerned.
Can a power of attorney be cancelled?
Yes. A power of attorney can normally be revoked. We can prepare the revocation and notify the relevant parties.
